MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS
HUBBARD BEACH ASSOCIATION
- Membership is available only to owners of properties on lower Old Hubbard Road, Dale Road, Quimby Road, Quimby Circle, Hemlock Glen, Fish Cove Road, Summerside and certain parts of Stonedam Island Road. Requests for membership from outside this area are not accepted.
- The Association owns the beach and ramp property, so as a member you have the benefit of using this property.
- The beach and launch ramp are important amenities that add significant value to all properties in the Association area. We are often told this by realtors who always show the beach and ramp when they take prospects to a property in the HBA area.
- We are occasionally asked for opinions by town selectmen or the town manager, and sometimes we initiate a request for town action. We have considerably more influence collectively as an Association of 1402 members than any of us have as individuals.
- We have two social functions each year that are an opportunity to meet new members or other members you have not met or do not see frequently.
- One or more of our Board members are members of or liaise with the Milfoil Crisis Committee, the Fish Cove Association, the Lake Winnipesaukee Association and the Lakes region Conservation Trust and represent HBA interests to those organizations whose purpose is to protect and improve the quality of our lake.
- Like any affinity group, the Association exists only because members appreciate the indirect benefit they receive individually as a result of being a member of the group. Incorporated in 1982 as a non-profit corporation, the Association has thrived for more than 40 years because of the work of volunteer members.
- Most members are second home owners and most own waterfront property. The $50 dues is very small compared to other property associations (for example Fish Cove Association dues are $250) and given the cost and enjoyment of a second home, the dues are a small price to pay for the benefits of Association membership.
